| Accessible Retail continued its formidable tradition of charitable fund raising at the Christmas lunch on December 12th, 2002, when an audience of 1000 members and guests filled the Ballroom at the Hilton Hotel, Park Lane to be entertained by Willie Miller and Men in Coats and raised funds for the Sir Steve Redgrave’s Charitable Trusts.
Assisted by Core Sponsors, Carphone Warehouse and Harris Ventures, the lunch with charity auction and raffle raised £110,000 for the chosen charities. Among the beneficiaries will be the Harris Hospice Care at Orpington Hospital, The Variety Club Sunshine Coaches, The Dancing Eye Syndrome, Motor Neuron Disease and SANDS, with other beneficiaries to be chosen by the Sir Steve Redgrave Charitable Trust.
Huw Stevenson of Dalgleish, current Chairman of Accessible Retail, was grateful for the tremendous support from all sponsors, large and small, that enabled such an enjoyable function to take place and substantial monies to be raised for such a worthwhile cause.
Sir Steve Redgrave has pledged to raise £5 million over 5 years to support disadvantaged children in a wide variety of ways.
